500GB vs 1TB: Which storage should you choose for your gaming PC?

When buying a gaming PC, choosing storage is essential to ensure a smooth and frustration-free experience. At Radiance Gaming, we exclusively offer NVMe SSDs, which are much faster than traditional hard drives or even SATA SSDs. But should you opt for 500GB or 1TB?

500GB: An economical but limited choice

A 500GB NVMe SSD offers excellent performance and system responsiveness. This capacity is sufficient if you play a few popular games and manage your storage well. However, with recent titles often exceeding 100GB (Cyberpunk 2077, Call of Duty, etc.), space can quickly become an issue, especially if you install multiple games at once.

1TB: More freedom, fewer constraints

With 1TB, you have significantly more space to store your games without having to uninstall them regularly. This choice is ideal for gamers who like to switch between multiple titles and keep their games installed for the long term. In addition, with updates and DLC, more storage prevents you from being limited quickly.

Our recommendation

If your budget allows, we recommend a 1TB NVMe SSD for optimal comfort and an uncompromising gaming experience. However, if you play few games simultaneously and are willing to manage your space, 500GB may be enough.
